Are you a college student and feeling anxious? Depressed? Overwhelmed?
Have you had difficulty completing assignments, focusing, or feeling accepted?
College is such a pivotal time. It can be “the best of times and the worst of times” to the extent that many college students have the time of their lives, but many suffer emotionally more than ever. And you don’t have to go on pretending that everything is ok. We are here for you.
According to Lacy Deese, LPC, BC-TMH, “College is supposed to be fun. But at the same time, there is so much pressure from every direction. It’s a huge transition to adjust to balancing such a large academic workload with social and extracurricular involvement. Many students feel like they are spread too thin. Some have entered college with pre-existing mental health issues. They’ve moved far from home and have to start over with a new counselor. We love our college students and want to help them feel at ease as we walk with them through difficult times.”
All of our therapists specialize in helping college students, and our location on Fairmont Street, which runs directly across from Mississippi College, is within walking distance. We’ve seen many college students throughout the Metro Area for over 10 years. For students who travel back home (within Mississippi) for the summer or who attend other colleges across the state, we offer Telehealth services, so we can stay connected!
